Getting Started with World Class

A step-by-step guide to starting your World Class Journey

So you've established an interest in World Class and want to know where to go from here and what the process will look like...

  • Step 1. Get in touch. Your first action should be to speak with a World Class consultant. They will be able to add to your understanding of the process and will walk you through the process.

  • Step 2. Survey setup. Your World Class consultant will work with you to establish the Unit of Analysis and will make available the online survey as required. Currently the survey is available in both English and Spanish.

  • Step 3. Survey completion. Your population receives instructions as to the nature and purpose of the survey and starts completing it. Typically we allow 2-3 weeks for completion and look to sample a minimum of 30 people within the Unit of Analysis across Team Leader, Manager and Senior Manager level.

  • Step 4. Presenting results. Following the survey your World Class consultant will compile the World Class report and will look to highlight a number of key areas for investigation. These results are then presented back to your management team in a session usually lasting 2-3 hours in length.

  • Step 5. Develop the roadmap. Working with your World Class consultant where appropriate, your team will want to create a roadmap to the level of World Class they are looking to achieve. This will typically involve a series of initiatives being implemented to spur organisational improvement. At this stage you might also look to benchmark against others in your industry to highlight suitable objectives.

  • Step 6. Check your progress. On either a 6, 12 or 18 month period, we recommend that your organisation undergoes the diagnosis process again in order to show improvement and to prove that your interventions are the right tactics.

  • Step 7. Accreditation. Whilst optional, some organisations may wish to go forward to full accreditation; the final step in being acknowledged as a World Class organisation. This process is undertaken by one of our partner institutions and will involve an intensive investigation of your organisation, to establish the level of rigour necessary to accredit your organisation as World Class.
