At its heart, World Class is a research-led initiative.
Formed from a unique partnership between Warwick University and HT2, World Class continues to develop through various programmes of research on a daily basis.
Becoming World Class is a goal many organisations aspire to. But what is World Class and how can it be measured? Our 3 year research programme sought to answer this question.
Subsequent research uncovered two key questions that all World Class organisation's ask themselves...
"How are we doing?"
and
"How can we get better?"
World Class Journey helps to answer these two key questions and establish a World Class standard within organisations.
The World Class research project first sought out organisations which are considered to be "World Class". From this list the World Class research team set about analysing what exactly it was that made these companies so much better than everyone else.
We consider a World Class organisation to be:
"An organisation which is as good as anyone, anywhere in the world and better than any organisation in the locality".
There are however several levels at which an organisation can be considered "World Class". The World Class approach allows for departments or functions within an organisation to be measured as seperate entities, giving a more detailed picture of an organisations strengths and weaknesses.
In addition to this there is scope in our analysis for a company to "re-define" our understanding of a World Class organisation, should such an organisation emerge as an entity which has moved beyond World Class.
